The Coastal Invasive Species Committee received $13,500 from the provincial government.
Spokesperson Rachelle McElroy says the funding is key for education and outreach activities this year.
McElroy says funding also helps with their outreach events they attend throughout the year such as farmers markets, various earth day events, as well as provide a hotline for the public.
She adds to always report invasive species when you find them, and an easy way to do so is by downloading the weed app to your phone.
