The 2015 BC Child Poverty Report Card has been released and the grade isn’t good.
Adrienne Montani is the Provincial Coordinator for First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coaltion.
She says one in five children in B-C lives below the poverty line.
Montani says there was a vote in the House of Commons in 1989 to eliminate child poverty by the year 2000.

She says the report is an annual reminder that we still have not reached that goal.
In the Mount Waddington region, 35% of children live in poverty.
