BC Ferries is reminding boat users to obey the operating regulations around cable ferries.
The Baynes Sound Connector between Buckley Bay and Denman Island is expected to be in operation in February.
Captain Jamie Marshall says it’s important that boaters and commercial operators do not cross in front or behind the ferry. He says as the ferry crosses, the cables will be pulled close to the surface.
Lights have been installed at both the Buckley Bay and Denman West terminals to alert boaters and commercial operators when the ferry is crossing.
