Influenza Policy Now in Place at Island Health

The Influenza Protection Policy is now in place at Island Health Facilities.

North Island Medical Health Officer, Doctor Charmaine Enns, says visitors to Island Health facilities need to be aware of the policy – especially if you have not had your flu shot.

She says if you have not been vaccinated, you have to wear a mask while at one of the sites. She notes that will reduce the likelihood of transmitting influenza to others if you already have it.

Enns says there is still time to get your flu shot.

You can check the Island Health website for flu shot clinics.
