MP Wants Answer on Coast Guard Communications Centre

The Member of Parliament for the North Island – Powell River is calling on the Federal Government to make a decision on the Marine Communication Traffic Service Centre in Comox.

The centre was one of three Coast Guard Communications Centres on the coast slated to close in 2016.

New Democrat Rachel Blaney says the closure of the station was something she heard repeatedly on the campaign trail.

Blaney says it’s time for the government to give the communities of the North Island and the coast a firm answer on the future of the station.
