Port Hardy has been selected as one of the communities to be part of the Community Paramedicine Initiative.
Spokesperson Nancy Kotani says the initiative is about using paramedic’s skills sets in non emergency settings.
Kotani says the goal is to improve health care services in rural and remote communities.
Kotani says when they complete the initiative in a year and half; there will be around 80 full time equivalent community paramedics throughout BC.
