NIC’s Education Assistant program now in Port Hardy

North Island College’s Education Assistant program moved up the Island.
Spokesperson Christiana Wiens says this program is specifically design with an indigenous focus.
Wiens says their community partners in Port Hardy asked the college to bring the program to the city, so their students can take it without leaving the community.

In 2012, NIC offered the program in Ahousaht, where nearly half of the West Coast communities’ residents are under 19 years old.
