There are a lot of changes for the province with the new Guide and Service Dog Act.
The new regulations include higher training standards, visible identification for the public, and recognizing service dogs as well as guide dogs.
B.C. and Alberta Guide Dogs CEO Bill Thornton says it will ensure that people who have a certified guide or service dog are guaranteed the same rights as anyone else.
The act will also allow dogs and puppies-in-training to go into any public place where a fully certified dog can go.
