Port Hardy Hospital ER closed throughout the weekend

Another weekend, another lengthy closure at the Port Hardy Hospital’s Emergency unit.

It will be closed over a couple of days from 7 pm tonight until 7 pm on Sunday night.

Island Health says the closure is due to a lack of staff, which has been an ongoing issue, leading to several closures throughout this summer.

They say that anyone in an emergency situation should call 911 and head to Port MacNeill Hospital if possible.

All other inpatient services will be conducted as normal at Port Hardy Hospital throughout the weekend.
