Temporary overnight closures will continue at Cormorant Island Community Health Centre until the end of September.
The closures will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Island Health made the announcement Thursday, saying they do not have enough nursing staff to maintain safe and consistent 24/7 service at the centre.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, Island Health says to call 911 and not go to the health centre while it is closed. They say this will delay access to care and they have protocols in place to transport patients to the appropriate site.
The centre will stay fully open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the health authority.
If you are unsure if you are experiencing a medical situation, Island Health says to call HealthLink BC at 811 to speak with a registered nurse.
