Lack of natural gravel in the River

Since it opened in May of last year – people have been going to the Elk Falls Suspension Bridge in droves.
Today, the BC Conservation Foundation is starting up on a project that will see gravel being dropped into the river.
BCCF’s project leader Jeramy Damborg says lack of natural gravel has led to a lack of spawning ground for salmon and trout.
Damborg adds the work could take up to four weeks, and there will be full trail closures to Elk Falls from between February 24th and 26th.
