Walk Away From Racism features Elsie Paul

This year marks the 20th anniversary the Immigrant Welcome Centre will hold the Walk Away From Racism event March 19.

Spokesperson Jim Brennan says Walk Away from Racism is about shedding light on what happens when we interact with people who are different than us.

Accomplished author Elsie Paul will be the keynote speaker this year, and Brennan says she is someone who could speak to us about the historical issues we’ve had around race.

Brennan says Elsie has been around for eight decades, and has been recognized by the former Assembly of First Nations Chief Shawn Atleo for all her wonderful work around reconciliation.
