Island Health says the Cormorant Island Community Health Centre emergency department will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Saturday to Monday.
This is because of limited staffing availability, and it will reopen as scheduled on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
Island Health says anyone experiencing a medical emergency while the department is closed should call 9-1-1.

They add you should not go to the department during the hours it is closed, as this will delay your access to care.
Island Health and BC Emergency Health Services have protocols in place to ensure patients are transported to an appropriate alternate site.
