2 Port Hardy men facing drug trafficking charges after sting

Two men from Port Hardy are facing multiple charges following a drug trafficking sting by RCMP.

According to Port Hardy RCMP, 47-year-old Jason Dow and 40-year-old Jerry Coburn were arrested on March 23. They are facing multiple drug related charges including possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.

Police say the operation was done over the course of several months by undercover officers in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies.

Cst. Nico Dupuy of Port Hardy RCMP says the results reflect the officers’ dedication to the community, and concerns about drug trafficking.

“These drugs have had a catastrophic effect on communities across the province. They are ruining people’s health, breaking up families and having a detrimental effect on our younger population,” said Dupuy.

“We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and will continue to work tirelessly to combat drug trafficking in our town.”

Port Hardy RCMP ask you to call them at 250-949-6335 to report any suspicious activity as they combat drug trafficking.
