The government is taking steps to improve fibre supply for forest product manufacturers.
Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources Steve Thomson says the changes are designed to ensure that residual fibre is made available to secondary users.
The amendments to the Forest Act were introduced in the legislature late last week..
Thomson says once the changes pass, the Ministry can move forward with developing the regulations.
