The North Island is once again being highlighted on international television.
The television series Alone premiered last week and focuses on contestants left to survive on the North Island.
North Island Film Commissioner Joan Miller says the series has brought a lot of attention to the North Island.
Miller notes that while there are lots of productions done on Vancouver Island, usually the island is standing in for another location.
She says it’s great to see the island get to play itself in a production, especially one that highlights the natural beauty of the region.
