Lead found in District 85’s drinking water

During spring break, School District 85 tested the water at various North Island school buildings.
Results found that some schools had lead in their water.
Spokesperson John Martin says they’re hoping to conduct new tests in May.
The following schools have been affected:
A.J. Elliott Elementary School, Eagle View Elementary School, Fort Rupert Elementary School, North Island Secondary School, and Port Hardy Secondary School.
Water fountains in those schools are deactivated until the drinking water is safe to consume.
