B-C Aboriginal Friendship Centres calling for support

B-C Aboriginal Friendship Centres are calling on the federal government to ensure Friendship Centres continue to receive funding to support urban aboriginals.
Acting Executive Director of the BC Association of Friendship Centres, Carl Mashon says his group has concerns about some recent changes to which agencies can access funding through the Urban Aboriginal Strategy.
He says when the government opened up the funding to more agencies it did not increase the amount of funding available.
Mashon says they are especially concerned about the impact on smaller friendship centres, like those on the North Island.
