On Vancouver Island, the weather is getting dry which means the risk of fires being ignited has gone up.
Donna MacPherson from the Coastal Fire Centre says the fire danger rating on Vancouver Island is at a moderate to high level.
MacPherson says this is also a good time to “fire-smart” your property and get rid of hazards that could put your home at risk.
She says a guide to doing that can be found on the BC Wildfire website.
