The Salmon River Project is being put on hold due to costs.
Spokesperson Stephen Watson says BC Hydro was working with Firth Nations and government fish agencies, and through their assessments, they found the project was too expensive.
Watson says they have to go through the next steps of the process, which it might take a few years, so operations will not change until there is a final decision.
