New soccer field starting construction in Alert Bay

The soccer field next to the big house in Alert Bay will be closed this spring for major upgrades.

Starting on Thursday, February 13, heavy equipment and machinery will be off-loaded on site. Ground-breaking is expected to start on Monday or Tuesday with work continuing through the coming months.

The ‘Namgis First Nation is building a better field, and it’s expected to be open sometime in June. The nation apologizes for any inconvenience while the improvements are under way.
