The Sierra Club of BC is urging the government to help the forestry sector move away from logging old growth forests.
Spokesperson Jens Wieting says, according to data from the government, another 100-thousand hectares of old growth forest was lost between 2004 and 2015.
The Club is calling for a comprehensive conservation and forest management plan for Vancouver Island.
