Medical marijuana advocate Marc Emery made a stop on the north island Wednesday to support medical marijuana dispensaries.
A rally was held at Spirit Square in Campbell River to raise awareness of the challenges patients have when trying to access medical marijuana.
Marc Emery says local governments should support local dispensaries and do everything they can to have police leave the business alone if it’s not causing any trouble.
The federal government is expected to make a decision around access to medical marijuana in late August, but advocates say it is unfair to leave patients without access to medication in the meantime.
