The B-C government is taking steps to recognize gender identity or expression in provincial human rights legislation.
The government will be introducing legislation to amend the B-C Human Rights Code to include gender identity or expression among the protected grounds covered by the code.
The move also brings the B-C code in line with proposed legislation at the federal level to include gender identity or expression to the Canadian Human Rights Act.
