North Island-Powell River federal candidates set for all-candidate forum this month

You can ask the North Island-Powell River candidates questions at a forum later this month.

The Vancouver Island North Teachers’ Association will be holding an all-candidate forum for the riding, with the event focused on issues relating to education, healthcare, climate change, and economic stability.

Association local president Shawn Gough says as of now, only NDP’s Tanille Johnston, Liberal Party’s Jennifer Lash, and Green Party’s Jessica Wegg have been confirmed to attend the event.

The association says if you have a question to ask, you can email your questions ahead of time to Gough at [email protected]. They say you have until 12:00 p.m. on April 22 to send questions.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis, with the forum set to happen at Fort Rupert Elementary School, located at 5520 Beaver Harbour Road in Port Hardy, on April 23. It will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
