The Coastal Fire Centre has extended its category two open fire prohibition to include Haida Gwaii.
Spokesperson Marg Drysdale says it was expanded because the area is dry, and even with the rain in the next couple of days, forecasters are saying it won’t be enough.
Drysdale says if the weather changes, and if the centre thinks it’s safe, they can lift the prohibition.
