A campfire ban is coming into effect as of noon Wednesday.
Marg Drysdale with the Coastal Fire Centre says most of the Coastal Fire Centre region is in high to extreme for its fire danger rating.
Drysdale says Port Hardy and Port McNeill are currently in moderate, but that is expected to rise in the coming days.
