Today marks the 15th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks.
Trish Greenwood with the Powell River Fire Department says that day had a profound effect on first responders across the continent.
She says 9/11 was a strong reminder of how dangerous the job of a first responder is.
A ceremony was held at the Powell River Fire Department this morning, along with a moment of silence for the victims.
