Nomination period has now closed for the by election for the Port Hardy District Council.
Port Hardy’s Director of Corporate Services Heather Nelson-Smith says once the acclamation is done, the city will put a notice in the paper for a few weeks, then be swearing in the councillor in November to the council table.
Nelson-Smith says Leighton Wishart has been campaigning for a while, and is the board chair of School District 85.
