Thanksgiving the busiest long weekend of the year for BC Ferries

Thanksgiving weekend will be the busiest weekend of the year for BC Ferries.

Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall says they will be adding 70 extra sailings to the major routes on top of the regular sailings.

She says for everyone taking a ferry this long weekend, regardless if you’re driving or walking on, ensure you arrive early.

Marshall says the busiest day is expected to be the holiday Monday, with traffic returning to the mainland from Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

She adds they also are expecting highway traffic near the Tsawwassen terminal due to the new outlet mall opening up nearby.
