The importance of the flu shot

Health Authorities are encouraging you to get your flu shot as soon as possible.

Medical Health Officer Dr. Paul Martiquet says we’ve had an early start to the flu season and it looks like it’s going to be a heavier season than they anticipated. He notes the flu shot is the one thing you can do to help prevent a “killer disease”.

Martiquet says people who don’t consider themselves at high-risk can encounter people that are at higher risks – therefore heightening their chance at getting the flu.

You can get your flu shot at walk-in clinics, local pharmacist, public health clinics and family doctors as well.
