Ferry schedule changes have parents concerned for students

The Comox Valley School Board will be bringing forward concerns about the impacts of ferry schedule changes on students across the coast.

The board received a letter of concern from the Parent Advisory Council on Denman Island about the impact the reduction of mid-day sailings has had on students.

Comox Valley Trustee Janice Caton says the board voted to bring the issue to the provincial trustee association’s AGM because it’s an issue that affects students in multiple districts.

The board also voted to send a letter of support to the Denman Island PAC, which will be approaching BC Ferries to ask for the return of the mid-day sailings.
