Diver finds possible long-lost nuclear bomb off BC coast

A diver and the owner of the Union Bay Diving shop found something he wasn’t looking for while in the waters near Haida Gwaii.

Sean Smyrichinsky says he was diving for sea cucumbers when he saw a rock-like formation. He says the object was very large, flat on the top and had a hole in it.

He says it may have been a long-lost nuclear bomb from a United States Air Force bomber that crashed over British Columbia in 1950.

The Canadian Navy has deployed a ship to explore the site and confirm if the object is in fact the nuclear bomb from the bomber that crashed over the BC waters.
