Organizations across the province are marking Multiculturalism Week.
Jim Brennan with the Immigrant Welcome Centre says it’s important to recognize the value different cultures bring to our communities. He notes rural communities are very good at welcoming people from other cultures into their community.
Brennan says multiculturalism is something all Canadians should be proud of.
Brennan notes that while incidents of discrimination are rare, they do still happen, which is why it’s important to take time to celebrate the contributions of different cultures.
