Funding for affordable housing projects

The province has committed to investing $855 million to affordable housing this year. 68 affordable housing projects will receive funding.

Premier Christy Clark is insisting the province is making progress on the affordable housing issue. She says that the lack of supply makes it more difficult and notes there are 2 things the province doesn’t control which adds to the list of difficulties.

There are 18 projects on the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island which will create 774 affordable housing units. The funding includes one project in Powell River, which will add 27 units.
