Company chosen to supply Port Hardy’s new fire truck

Work is getting underway to build Port Hardy’s new fire truck. The District has approved spending $1.1 million to provide a new vehicle for the department.

E-ONE Fire Trucks, out of Florida will build the new vehicle.

Mayor Hank Bood says the district received five responses to its request for proposals and they had some specific criteria that had to be met. Bood says one important feature of the new truck will be a ladder, so firefighters can access the four-story buildings in town.
