The District of Port Hardy is looking forward to working with Telus on the new high speed internet project on the North Island.
The company announced it would invest 13-million dollars to bring fibre optic internet to Port Hardy and Port McNeill homes and businesses.
Port Hardy Mayor Hank Bood says the increase in internet speed will be a game-changer for the community.
Telus is working on the infrastructure now with the goal of having all homes and businesses connected by the end of 2017.
