The Island Coastal Economic Trust is offering support to help communities attract business from the tech sector.
Spokesperson Line Robert says figures from the province show that the tech sector employs more than mining, gas, and forestry, combined. She notes that a number of small tech startups in small communities have done very well – leading to strong numbers of available jobs.
Robert says the funding will help communities develop strategies to encourage tech companies to set up shop in their communities.
