Port Hardy is looking for volunteers to help out in the event of a disaster.
District Councillor John Tidbury says Emergency Social Service volunteers provide support to families that have been displaced from their homes.
Tidbury says one of the requirements for being an ESS volunteer is the ability to commit to the time.
