Coastal First Nations has signed a new management area agreement for the Pacific North Coast.
CFN is an alliance of First Nations from northern Vancouver Island to the Alaska border.
Board Chair Patrick Kelly says many of the individual nations have their own marine and land-use plans.
Kelly says this agreement ensures the coast is looked at as a comprehensive whole, using an ecosystem-based approach to management decisions.
