Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a structure fire at a home on the Fort Rupert Reserve.
Port Hardy crews were called out just before 2:00 PM on Monday afternoon and arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the single-story home.
A mutual aid call-out was made to Port McNeill and Coal Harbour departments. The fire was quickly brought under control, but, according to crews, much of the structure was lost.
A public Facebook page has been set up to help the family members, who lost most of their belongings in the blaze.
