Local riders taking part in 2017 Boomer’s Ride

A group of local cyclists is riding from Port Hardy to Victoria in support of Boomer’s Ride.

The annual two-day ride from Comox to Victoria is named for Andrew ‘Boomer’ Eykelenboom, a military medic from Comox who was killed in Afghanistan in 2006.

Local rider Terry Smyth says 16 riders have come together to add a Port Hardy to Comox leg for this year’s event.

The riders will leave Port Hardy Thursday morning and ride to Sayward. They will join the other riders in Comox on Saturday for the journey to Victoria.

The ride wraps up on Sunday.
