Wacky weather causes distress for BC farmers

Due to the wet and cold spring many farm crops in B.C. are behind.

Where consumers are especially going to see that is at the farmers markets throughout the province.

Heather O’Hara is the Executive Director of the B.C. Association of Farmers Markets. O’Hara says some farmers have been delayed four to six weeks from when they would usually seed their crops.

But, she says farmers, especially small scale farmers, are resilient and innovative and have invested in equipment like hoop houses, hot boxes and cold frames to extend the growing season.
