A pair of North Island College students are off to Disney World for a special co-op program.
The exchange is through a partnership with the University of California, Riverside and Disney International. Business student Amissa Funk says she’s nervous, but very excited for the experience.
“I fly to California for 2 weeks and I take an academic course there. Then we fly to Florida and we work there, at Disney World, while also attending Disney classes so I’ll be working full-time mostly in the busy seasons and then taking [classes] when it’s less busy while still working at the resort.”
Funk will be in the United States for 6 months and leaves on June 24th.
Tourism and hospitality management student Hiroki Asai is also taking part in the co-op program. He will be working as a character performer, playing the role of Goofy at the park.
