Driving too slow on a good day could cost you

If the road conditions are well and you decide to drive significantly below the speed limit, you could get fined.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Vishal Mathura says if the weather is nice, you should be driving the posted speed limit.

Mathura says he has never given out a ticket to someone who was driving too slow, but notes that’s one of the signs police look for in an impaired driver.

“Right away, if you’re an investigator, you take a look at that vehicle and think why is this person going [slower] than the speed limit? Well sometimes if people are high on drugs or intoxicated that’s [driving slowly] is one of the signs that they are under the influence.”
