IIOBC Seeking Witnesses in Qualicum Officer-Involved Shooting

The investigation continues into an officer-involved shooting earlier this month.

On October 12th, RCMP responded to reports of a man who had allegedly stabbed himself inside a vehicle on the inland Island Highway in Qualicum Beach.

The man was then shot after a scuffle with police. Two officers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Independent Investigation Office of BC was sent to the scene, and investigators are now seeking witnesses to come forward.

If you have further details about what happened, contact the IIOBC’s witness information line at 1-855-446-8477.
