Mounties in the region have recovered roughly $100,000 worth of stolen helicopter parts.
Police says the items were taken earlier this month on the 6500 block of Hardy Bay Road.
The RCMP says someone had turned in some found electronics to local business Stryker Electronics, Ltd. After checking out the items, it was determined that they were in fact the stolen helicopter parts.
Port Hardy RCMP Staff Sergeant Wes Olsen advises residents to keep their cars locked and to not leave valuables in plain sight.
He says vehicle thefts continue to be a problem in the area. He adds that you should always report any theft, no matter how small. This allows RCMP to track crime trends.
