Get set for the Great BC Shakeout

The Great BC Shakeout goes on Thursday morning. The annual province-wide earthquake drill is a reminder of the importance of being prepared in case of a major event.

Manager of Emergency Services for the city of Powell River, Ryan Thoms, says it’s a chance to go through your workplace and develop a plan if a major catastrophe were to happen.

Thoms says the annual event is also a good reminder to make sure your emergency kits are ready to go and that you are prepared to be by yourself for up to a week.
