BC grade 10 students top readers in the world

BC’s Grade 10 students are the best readers in the world.

That’s according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Programme for International Student Assessment.

The program assesses students from 72 countries and all 10 Canadian provinces.

Education Minister Mike Bernier says BC’s students and their outcomes put them at the head of the class globally.

The test is conducted every three years and is one of the most comprehensive programs of its kind in the world.
