Minor earthquake felt in north Vancouver Island village

A minor earthquake was felt in the Vancouver Island village of Sayward.

Earthquakes Canada says the 2.9-magnitude quake was reported at 12:19 pm yesterday (Feb. 17th) near the small town, north of Campbell River.

The quake had a depth of 4 km.

“There were no reports of damage, and none would be expected,” Earthquakes Canada said in a statement.
